New Mexico Beef Pizza
New Mexico Beef Pizza
Directions
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan then add onion. Cook onion until translucent, 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic and cumin until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Add flour to saucepan and stir to coat flour with oil, about 1-2 minutes. Add chicken broth and undrained can of green chilies. Bring to boil and simmer until thickened, about 10-15 minutes.
- To assemble the pizza, add 3.5 oz. of the green chili sauce on top of the pizza crust. Then layer the Monterey Jack cheese, corn, beef topping, and Queso Fresco.
- Place in preheated 450° F conventional or pizza oven and bake 12-18 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.
- After baking, drizzle with the Mexican sour cream and top with fresh cilantro. NOTE: Salsa Verde can be used instead of the homemade sauce.
