Ground Pork Empanadas
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375℉.
- Remove pie crusts from freezer.
- Brown ground pork with onions, and add seasonings, spices and raisins. Let mixture cook until pork is fully cooked, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, and stir in Manchego and pine nuts.
- Divide mixture evenly between pie crusts in center of each crust. Wet edges with water. Fold crust over in half. (Dough has been washed, so no need for egg wash.)
- Bake at 375℉ until empanadas are golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Smithfield Ground Pork
- 6 ea. Pillsbury Round Frozen Pie Dough
- 1/2 c. onion, diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 c. raisin(s)
- 1/3 c. cheese, manchego , shredded
- 1/8 c. pine nuts, toasted
Lemon Honey Dipping Sauce
Directions
- Combine all ingredients, and serve on the side along with a side salad.

- 1 lemon zest, lemon
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
